Personal Information
I completed my Ph.D. very recently at the Middle East
Technical University under supervision of Prof. Pınar Karagöz. My main research interests are multilingual and applied NLP.
I was a visiting pre-doctoral researcher at the University of Tübingen under the supervision of Dr. Çağrı Çöltekin, focusing on machine learning approaches to fact-checking. Prior to this, I conducted research on explainable AI, applying various explainability techniques (such as model-agnostic methods and causal inference) to a range of NLP tasks, including sarcasm detection, named entity recognition, sentiment analysis and fact-checking.
I am also involved in the EXA4MIND project, funded by the European Union which aims to develop a platform for extreme data, enabling advanced data analytics on supercomputers and automated data management.
My role in the project focuses on advanced querying and analytics to facilitate uniform queries across different DBMS systems. To be more specific, we are leveraging large language models to tackle the natural language to query (SQL/NoSQL) problem. Additionally, I am implementing an interface using a REST API and Apache Airflow to manage information exchange and trigger corresponding workflows.
