Was born as the fourth child of Butcher Yusuf and Mevlüde Hanım in Antakya
When in high school, had a serious accident with the bike that his father had given him as a present. He survived thanks to his determination
Improved his English by guiding the tourists that visited his father's restaurant
Liked studying under the olive trees of the St. Pierre Church, Antakya
After getting B.S. in Textile Engineering in 4 years (1961), he started M.S. on "velvet" at the same university
During his Master's studies he married Laura (Leyla Hanım)
His first child Ergun was born on 15th February 1963
After finishing his studies, he returned to Turkey with his family to work at Sümerbank's fibre factory in Maraş
Went to Bergama for work with his family in 1965, and his second child Adem was born there
Got to know Sakıp Sabancı on a trip to Adana and Mr. Sabancı proposed him to work at Bossa/Adana. Later, he became the chairperson of the velvet department at Teksa/Adana
His third child Şebnem was born on the 8th August 1972 in their house on Baraj Yolu, Adana
In times of intense anarchy (1978), Laura took the children to England for their education, and a few months later told him that they would not return to Turkey
Started work as the manager of the Printed Cloth factory in Tarsus Çukurova Industrial Enterprises and moved to Mersin
On a flight from Istanbul to Adana, he ran into his friend from UMIST, Özdemir Sabancı, and received a job offer from him. Started as the Marketing and Technical Service Manager at SASA, on 1st April 1983
During his career of 15 years at SASA, he literally opened the gate of Middle East for the company; through his trips, primarily to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. Solving the serious problems in Russsia, he managed to shift the Russian commerce to the utmost level
Liked Mersin, the sea, working, going to their summer house (Babil) with his family on weekends
Liked feeding the birds and fishes very much, and asked them for prayer when feeding
Liked playing backgammon very much
Made delicious (Hatay) peynirli irmik helvası (a traditional dessert of his hometown with semolina and cheese)
Valued education a lot. His greatest ideal was to have a school built

Was diagnosed of colon cancer on 12th October 1996. On 23rd March 1998 i cry, when angels deserve to die
